Randall received the 2018 Most Outstanding Achievement Doctoral Graduate

OKMULGEE, Oklahoma — College of the Muscogee Nation Dean of Academic Affairs Monte Randall received his doctorate in education from Oral Roberts University.

Randall took a couple of years off after receiving his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and wanted to go back and obtain his Ph.D. for a few reasons.

“The goal of higher ed, in general, is lifelong learning. You don’t ever really quit,” Randall said.

He also said he went back to school for his family and the students at CMN.

Being a college student for over 20 years, Randall said persistence and setting goals are what helped him achieve his higher education.

Aside from receiving his degree, Randall was selected as the 2018 Most Outstanding Achievement Doctoral Graduate recipient.

“That was awarded by the ORU Graduate Faculty and just a honor to be recognized for the work,” he said.

Randall said he is the first faculty member to have a doctorate. He said being at a developing college helped push him to achieve his goal.
