Company discusses phases for toll bridge

OKMULGEE, Oklahoma — A Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council Business, Finance and Justice and Land, Natural Resource and Cultural Preservation Committee held a joint committee meeting Feb. 19 at the Mound Building in Okmulgee.

All legislation passed during the session will go before the full Council Feb. 23 for vote. Mvskoke Media will provide coverage of this session.

HEW/LNC addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:

TR 19-028 Approving an agreement between MCN and Poe and Associates Inc., for consulting engineering services for the Nation. Rep. Adam Jones sponsored the resolution, which passed 6-0.

MCN is considering the construction of a toll bridge.

Poe and Associates possesses the resources and ability to provide the Nation with consultation in connection with developing the design, final plans, specifications and construction contract documents.

Rep. Patrick Freeman, Robert Hufft and Mark Randolph were absent.

    The priorities and morals of our tribe are all wrong! No money to help our own people with burial or anything else for that matter but mom why for a toll bridge? Who are you trying to impress? The state that absolutely doesn’t care about our people? It should be used for the people and don’t call it progress because that sounds just like the ghouls of Alabama
