OKMULGEE, Oklahoma — The Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council held a special session Jan. 6 at the Mound Building in Okmulgee to swear-in representatives and elect officers.

The Council voted 11-4 to re-elect Tulsa District Rep. Lucian Tiger III as speaker. Four representatives voted for Okmulgee District Rep. Del Beaver.

The Council voted 11-4 to re-elect Creek District Rep. David Hill as second speaker. Four representatives voted for Okfuskee District Rep. Randall Hicks.

Both elections were conducted by closed ballot.

The Council re-elected McIntosh District Rep. Darrell Proctor as sergeant-at-arms by voice vote as there was not another representative nominated for the position.
