Our responsibility is to give the citizens the truth in an unbiased manner. There are multiple sides to every story, but yours will not be told if you do not speak up.

My resolution needs your help

OKMULGEE, Oklahoma — It is a new year for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and that comes with New Year’s resolutions.

What is a resolution? According to www.dictionary.com, a resolution is a resolve; a decision or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something.

That is what we all want to try and do with our new year, to do something and stick with it.

My New Year’s resolution is to be able to get more information from our public officials to our citizens.

However, I or we at Mvskoke Media cannot do that alone. I need people to help me. I need help from MCN officials.

Help us, help you.

We in the editorial department need your help.

We want to be able to talk to more people within our Nation.

Help us document your story for the citizens.

It is not to bash you, it is so they can see the full story. They have a right to know what is going on with the Nation and with the leadership who is guiding our citizens.

We want to talk to you all. We want to hear your opinions. We want the citizens to hear them too.

Without the opinion and views from our public officials, a group of citizens lose their voice.

By helping us to publish your views, it will help our citizens understand their government and, most of all, your perspective on the issue.

The citizens voted for you to be in office. Think of yourself as the spokesperson for your people. Speak loud. Speak proud.

Use Mvskoke Media as the tool to make your voice heard. We can help relay information to the citizens.

Again, everyone at MCN works for the citizens, not the other way around. That includes us at this department.

Our responsibility is not to make you look good. That is yours.

Our responsibility is to give the citizens the truth in an unbiased manner. There are multiple sides to every story, but yours will not be told if you do not speak up.

One candidate in the previous election spoke about holding Council representatives accountable, but the question is, can you hold yourself accountable to the people you serve?
