George Tiger appeared in court to enter a guilty plea

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma- Former Principal Chief and current Principal Chief candidate for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation appeared in court today for a plea change hearing where he entered a plea of guilty to federal felony charges of bribery and has waived his right to jury trial.
Tiger told the courts that he corruptly accepted over $61,900 from Aaron Wayne Terry who was previously indicted for embezzlement.
The change came just two weeks after Tiger appeared in Eastern Oklahoma District Court for an arraignment hearing.
Tiger was informed of sentencing guidelines for the alleged crime.
The charges Tiger has plead guilty to carry a penalty of up to 37 months’ imprisonment according to public official classification sentencing guidelines.
Tiger will be sentenced by a federal judge at a later date.
He was excused from court until sentencing.
