Lee accepts scholarship to play basketball
HENRYETTA, Oklahoma — Lauren Lee, a 5’10” forward for the Henryetta Lady Knights, has accepted a scholarship to play basketball at Allen Community College in Iola, Kansas.
An all-around athlete, this Muscogee (Creek) Senior is also a Slow-pitch District Champion. But as her next chapter in academia opens, Lee will be playing basketball and studying health science.
“I want to become a PT,” Lee said.
While wearing the black and Gold for Henryetta Lee was named Max Preps Player of the game.
Lee said she felt like she had done her best to prepare for the next level of basketball.
“I’m a little nervous but not too bad,” Lee said. “Mostly just excited to learn more.”
Lee was a cornerstone as one of the more experienced players in a developing basketball program according to Threatt.
“We are losing some of these experienced players that helped us win some games we weren’t supposed to win, but we are building up the younger ones,” Threatt said.
Lee will be stepping into the Red Devils training under the tutelage of Rachel Janzen and Cindee Clark.
Janzen originally from Oklahoma City, served as the assistant women’s basketball coach at ACC for four seasons before becoming head coach.
Clark began her coaching career at Southern University at Shreveport as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. She has also coached and taught at Calvary Baptist Academy, Linwood Public Charter School and Loyola College Prep.
