STILLWATER, Oklahoma — In a recent press release by the Oklahoma State University Center for Sovereign Nations, students from OSUCSN will participate in three sovereignty-focused events in recognition of Native American Awareness Week.

All the events will take place April 10 throughout the day.

The first event, which will be called Sovereign Stance, will be an opportunity for students to gather and discuss the responsibility they feel toward representing their culture while being a student on campus.

The second event called Sovereignty Speaks Culture will have Chickasaw Cultural Center Executive Officer Valorie Walters as the featured speaker during the luncheon.

Walters will speak on how the Chickasaw Nation shares its culture as an exercise of tribal sovereignty. Registration is required for this event.

The third event is a reception at the newly renovated Center for Sovereign Nations.
