Open house planned to connect MCN citizens to agricultural resources
OKMULGEE— The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Natural Resource Conservation District is holding an open House on Dec. 20 to connect Muscogee (Creek) citizens to agricultural and conservation resources.
The event will be held at the MCN Housing Building on the 2nd Floor Conference Room in Okmulgee.
Patricia Kilian and Julie Norm spoke on Mvskoke Radio about the various resource agencies that will be on hand for the open house.
According to Kilian, Blue Thumb, OK Conservation Commission, Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge, Langston University, and Oklahoma Black Historical Research Project Inc. will be in attendance providing information to citizens.
Blue will be providing information on water and soil testing. Langston University will have information on raising goats and their various uses.
The event is open to Muscogee (Creek) citizens of all ages who are interested in agriculture, according to Kilian.
“We are here to provide information and Julie can even help people navigate USDA programs,” Kilian said.
The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
