Grand opening for casino expansion set for April 15
BEGGS, Oklahoma — Muscogee (Creek) Nation’s Duck Creek Casino will celebrate with a grand opening for its new expansion April 15.
“The planning started about two years ago,” CDD General Manager Lorinda Driskill said, herself celebrating a career milestone of 24 years in gaming April 11.
The expansion will add 8,000 square feet of gaming space with a little over 200 machines, including the all-new 4D machines.
I-5 Designs was the head firm that handled the expansion.
Everything kicks off Sunday at 5:30 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at the south entrance. There will be a VIP event following at 6 p.m., with Duck Creek’s top 600 players, tribal and gaming officials and dignitaries and will feature a dinner catered by River Spirit Casino Resort.
The fun does not stop with the weekend, as Monday April 16 will feature a live remote from KVOO radio and promotional giveaways from Pepsi.
Driskill is proud of the work of her team to bring this event all together.
“This team, they work together, it’s a family,” Driskill said. “The fact that we’re having to expand is phenomenal because that means we’re doing what we’re supposed to do.”
Driskill said the expansion celebration coinciding with her time as general manager has made this event even more special for her personally.
“This has been my dream since I became the general manager here, because I’m a Creek citizen and making money for the tribe is why I’m here,” Driskill said. “I want to do the Nation proud.”
Duck Creek Casino is located just off Hwy. 75 at: 10085 Ferguson Rd., Beggs, OK 74421.
